Advanced equipment, cross trainers, treadmills, weights, and many more- Your first day at the gym can be full of doubts and confusions, especially when you don’t have a personal trainer. Here are some tips for beginners that tell on how you can better the fitness workouts with the machines.

Don’t try everything

As simple as it may sound, every machine in the gym is not meant for all. Long before you hit the gym, you need to evaluate your fitness goals, which determine the equipment you will use. Are you trying to lose weight? Are you aiming at building or gaining muscles?

Focus on cardio

Treadmills, cycling machines and cross trainers should be a part of your gym schedule when you are starting out. If you have not been maintaining your body, the initial problem is stamina to bear the exercises. As such, cardio is the best way to stay motivated and increase the levels gradually.

Don’t gym on an empty stomach

Even if you are trying to lose weight, never ever starve the body. In fact, when you are exercising, the body needs energy to keep up with the schedule. Make a point to eat before an hour before the gym, and after you are done with the workouts, eat something thirty to sixty minutes later.

If gym sessions are giving your muscle ache, don’t worry as it is quite normal for any new fitness starter to experience initial pain. After an hour of the gym, you can have a glass of warm water, which should be sipped slowly for relief.
