Once we start working out at the gym it can be really hard to stop. They feel and the workout boosts our daily life and not going to the gym make us feel tired and lazy. However, if you fall sick or are suffering from mild symptoms then you don’t know if hitting the gym is a good option or should you stay in bed and take some rest. Let us look at some at the common problems when you are sick and if you should avoid the gym.

If you have congestion or a runny nose then you can go to the gym. But don’t do heavy exercises or inverted ones because they may drain your energy fairly quickly and you might feel the congestion growing and create further problems. Light exercise is a good option because it will keep you mentally stable and you will be able to carry out your daily activities with ease. If you have a fever, then avoid going to the gym altogether because any form of exercise will increase your body temperature. Instead stay at home and make sure that you take rest.

Having a mild headache or if you have body aches all over then it is okay to go to the gym. Doing light exercises will help you function throughout the day and increase blood flow to your body. Avoid doing any exercises that will boost flow to your head specifically. If you have a cough then you can exercise however you want as long as the cough isn’t chronic. You can try weightlifting and some mild cardio to get you stimulated.

It is essential that you do a light warm up of 10 minutes before doing any exercise, if you feel that you cannot continue then stop and take some rest at home.
